Integration services are accessible to all students, whether they have passed through the in-house classes or not.

The service’s three key strategies are:

1

Direct student support and family collaboration

Résonance Montréal’s itinerant educational specialists (IES) provide individualized support to students with hearing loss throughout their elementary and high school years. The goal: strengthen academic skills, listening and spoken language, and guide families every step of the way.

Working in partnership with school boards, service centres, and school teams, IES offer:

  • Monitoring and troubleshooting of hearing devices and FM systems
  • Coordination of technical support
  • Development of listening, spoken language, literacy, and academic skills
  • Support for organization, study habits, and social skills
  • Family guidance and participation in audiology appointments

2

Support for school teams

Mandated by the Ministry of Education, Résonance Montréal also offers supraregional support to all English school boards in Quebec. IES collaborate with educators to:

  • Share strategies for teaching students with hearing loss
  • Give in-class presentations and assist with IEP planning
  • Prepare three reports per year (Goals, Mid-Year Progress, and Year-End)

3

Audiology services

Each IES is paired with an audiologist to ensure students’ hearing technology functions optimally and to support access to sound in the classroom.
